Thanksgiving with Family
Time speeds up after Halloween, and Thanksgiving was here before we knew it! Ethan's 1st grade class started the festivities with a Thanksgiving program explaining the history and meaning of Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Day brought lots of family to our home. Olivia and Ethan worked to keep their cousin Nathan entertained while the cooking was happening upstairs.
Yep, we serve canned cranberry sauce and I LOVE it!
The whole gang for Thanksgiving - our family, my mom and dad, Joe's mom and brother Brennan, and my sister Rachel with Thomas and Nathan. It was a full house!
In addition to the typical pumpkin pie, we had s'mores whoopie pies. We even bruleed the marshmallow fluff. That quickly became a game of "will it brulee?" where Joe experimented with the kitchen blow torch to find out which Thanksgiving foods would brulee.
After the Thanksgiving meal, some of the family made a trip to Springfield's Festival of Trees. One holiday ends and another immediately begins!
Dad still managed to squeeze into the caboose with the kids!
The kids first visit with Santa this year.
And after the wishbone dried, the kids had their annual wishbone breaking contest. Ethan won for the third time in a row, which did not sit well with Olivia!
