Illinois State Fair
We enjoy the Illinois State Fair every year. What is not to love - lots of food, lots of entertainment, lots of animals. We went two days this year since one just doesn't allow us to get our fill of fried foods on a stick ;)
Both kids milked a cow and tried their luck at archery.

Riding the Sky Ride gives you perfect views of the Fair.
The kids rode lots of rides - thank goodness for the Mega Pass.
This year in Happy Hollow were many new animal interactions. Olivia and Ethan had fun feeding parakeets (yes, really) - hold a feed stick and get swarmed by dozens of parakeets.
The kids feeding a giraffe carrots.
I do not remember what this animal is, but the horns seemed to scare people. However, it was the gentlest animal in the tent and very delicately took the feed from Olivia.
Posing with llamas.
We tried it - the baconade! Lemonade shake up with bacon syrup. Not good.
More rides with grandpa.

And the adventure ended with a trip down the giant slide.
