Vegas, Baby!

Joe and I finally made it to Las Vegas this past December. Unbelievable that we had never been there before. We stayed at the Bellagio, and had a fantastic room overlooking the fountains. The fountain shows never grew old - they did a mix of pop, oldies, classical, and Christmas music. We spent the majority of our time walking the strip to explore the hotels, eating at fantastic restaurants (Robuchon and Jaleo come to mind!), and being the typical Vegas tourist. We saw Mystere (fantastic acrobatics, bizarre storyline), front row at the Amazing Jonathon, and front row at David Copperfield where Joe was brought up on stage to assist with an act. As the above picture shows, Joe managed to find Star Wars slot machines in the majority of casinos to play. We were not big gamblers - sticking to the 25cent or below machines!

Here is my "big" win - $235 on the nickel slots.
Ignore that this is on the penny slots - if it had been the $1 slots this would have been a huge win!
We managed to find all of the tourist activities...a private gondola ride at The Venetian, the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris, the aquarium at Mandalay Bay, the volcano eruption at the Mirage, etc (the pirate ship was under repair at Treasure Island). Here we are at the wax museum...and I had to cozy up to Heff of course.
Move over Angie...my turn with Brad!
Joe with the Rat Pack.
The Bellagio hotel lobby was gorgeous, of course. They had a floral winter wonderland scene to walk through, including skating penguins.

The Bellagio Chihuly ceiling...breath taking!
Since it was all new to us, we had to walk the Strip and see all of the hotels. This is the shot I took of Paris with the Bellagio Fountains (and this was basically the view from our hotel room, too).
The Bellagio Fountains from the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Treasure Island pirate ship, under repair unfortunately.
The MGM lion.
The Luxor. I always wanted to see the Sphinx and pyramids ;)
New York New York. We did not ride the roller coaster, though.
