Rock Band New Years

For New Years Eve/Day we were able to stay home and my family traveled to see us. We had a tapas dinner (OK - fancy for just a bunch of finger foods, just trying to make it sound more sophisticated) and my mom made a 4 layer chocolate peppermint cake. So, if anyone had a resolution about eating healthy, they had to quickly eat 2 pieces before the New Year. Here is Ethan after devouring his piece.

We even popped opened some Christmas crackers and here is Olivia modeling the paper crown that came out of hers.

Yep, it became that kind of a party at the end (all of 8pm for the kids). Ethan and Olivia stripped down to truly celebrate the holiday. Here we are banging on the drums to celebrate the New Year.

After the kids went to bed, the adults stayed up (yes, we made it past midnight) to have a Rock Band tournament. I believe that everyone is now hooked on the game, and everyone took a turn on at least one instrument. There will be no pictures and definitely no video posted as the pics are just too embarassing. We learned that none of us can sing and only be chance do we have any rhythm. However, the next day we were up and at Rock Band again, including the kids. Olivia was really rocking on her guitar - I'm not sure where she learned her moves unless she has been sneaking MTV.

Ethan on the drums. The drums seemed to be everyone's favorite, but once Ethan was allowed to play them, no one else was able to get a turn without a major meltdown (on Ethan's part). Happy 2009!
