Looks like the music genes just skipped one generation

Here's a great video of Olivia playing the drum. She likes to make animal sounds while she lays down the beats. She'll say something like, "Play like a tiger...ROAR!" or "Play like a kitty cat...MEOW! MEOW!" while playing. Of course, in the middle of this video, Joe decides that her playing is lacking a certain amount of cowbell. Given that she has musical talent in those genes somewhere, any interest gets maximally cultivated. Anyway, enjoy!

Did you hear about some big baseball series that happened recently?

Well, back again. For those of you living under a rock or who are cursed to be a Cubs fan, THE CARDS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!! We're as shocked as anyone, as Joe wrote them off long ago during the season. He hasn't been that wrong about a sporting event/series since the IL vs. Arizona game in the NCAA tournament. Then again, just about everyone was wrong about that one. Anyway, we (Joe and Kate with Noodle in tow) made it down for Game 3 of the Series, and we got to see Carp pitch an absolute gem. While Olivia stayed with Grandma Renee that night, she at least got to the last game of the regular season. She was pretty interested for the first couple of batters. Every swing and miss was followed with, "Ohhh, almost" from her mouth. Of course, she didn't get to say that much given Reyes got absolutely shelled. A hot dog, some nachos, and an ice cream later, it seemed to be a pretty successful outing. Here's a picture of her favorite part of the game (click the pics for a slightly bigger image):

Before the game, we also had a little first. This is the kind of thing Daddy isn't really ready for yet, but it is still pretty darn cute:

Finally, Halloween has come and gone. Since this was the last year that we will probably have any real say in what Olivia gets to be for Halloween, Joe got to pick the costume. Since they didn't have any stuff to be Will Ferrell from the Cowbell skit from SNL (Joe has taught her to say "need more cowbell" during their play sessions on the drums), he thought Super Olivia would be appropriate. When asked what she is for Halloween, her response was, "Super
O-ee-ba (how she pronounces Olivia), like Super Grover." Guess that sums it up. She was pretty scared going out for trick or treating, but once the candy started rolling, she warmed up a bit. Unlimited access to candy really made us think her costume should have been Jabba The Hutt when you see her post-binge pose. Here are a few pics:

Anyway, that is about it for now. We'll try for weekly updates on the happenings with the fam. Check back for more!
