Indy Weekend Trip

In February we took a weekend trip to Indianapolis.  On the way there, we stopped in Champaign to visit the University of Illlinois (not that we are trying to influence the kids' college choice!).  We ate at our favorite place Zorba's (that was date night for Joe and I every week in college) and walked the Quad.  Below is Olivia with the Student Union, Ethan with Follinger Auditorium, and both kids in Lincoln Hall.

I am not used to seeing the beloved Alma Mater bronze instead of green!  But, it still looks fantastic.

We made it to Indy just in time for the Pacers vs. Pistons basketball game.  Our seats were very high up for the game, but it gave us a good view of the entire game.

The next morning was a beautiful day, so we decided to walk around the downtown prior to our breakfast.  I had no idea that Indy had so much art around their town!  It was beautiful to see and explore.

It is hard to see unless you zoom in on the picture, but we could not figure out why these bears were posed this way on the columns.

A tween rebel.

After breakfast we spent a few hours at the Indy Children's Museum.  This was only our second time visiting this fantastic place.  The kids loved the entire dinosaur exhibit - especially this Harry Potter inspired dino.

Exploring the Asian exhibit.

An entire exhibit on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Obviously my favorite - their Chihuly exhibit.

Olivia enjoying the carousel.

A trip down the chocolate slide ended our visit.

The sign of a good weekend getaway - worn out kids.
