Olivia's First Day of Preschool

Olivia had her first day of 4 year old preschool today. We have enrolled her in Preschool in the Park at Washington Park. There are several of her friends that attend as well, making it a much easier transition for Olivia compared to last year! No tears, no fear this year, thank goodness. I don't think I could handle almost 3 months of her tears again - it broke my heart.

Here is Olivia at her school. She has her Princess backpack that she is very proud of, and it was filled with art projects at the end of the day. She said that her favorite parts of the day were playing outside and with her friends Caden and Ava.


At drop off time the kids are to sit in a circle and look at the books on the rug. Olivia was a bit confused about this ritual, but she will become accustomed to it soon.

After her first day we had a special lunch at (where else?) McDonald's. This was actually the first time that Olivia climbed all of the way to the top of the play structure - before she would only climb on the lower levels. Some boy playing in it guided her to the top, encouraging her the entire way. Now she is an old pro at it.
